About us

Leading the integration of genomic medicine into standard cancer care in Australia.

The Collaborative Centre for Genomic Cancer Medicine is a joint venture between the University of Melbourne and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

Born from a shared commitment to address emerging healthcare challenges, the centre brings both organisation’s leaders in cancer care and genomic research together, fostering greater interdisciplinary collaboration.

Located in the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, The Collaborative Centre is home to 15 groups and more than 200 researchers. Our work covers the full spectrum from early cancer detection and genetic-risk prediction, to improving diagnosis and treatment through innovation in technology and discovery-driven research.

We’re also working to build better, fairer health care systems – bridging the gap between clinic and lab to create real-world impact for people with cancer.

We’re proud to be the first national example of an academic-enabled genomics centre embedded in a cancer hospital, offering end-to-end precision cancer medicine from bench to bedside.
